BURBANK, Calif. --

On the next “TV One Access,” host Tatyana Ali and correspondent Quddus rewind to review the people, places and trends that became all the rage in the new millennium. “The Decade of Hotness and Not-ness” is an hour-long special produced by TV One’s monthly entertainment news program, “TV One Access.” The special premieres Sunday, January 10, 2010 (check local listings) on cable’s TV One. http://www.accesshollywood.com/topic/tv-one

In this episode, “TV One Access” assesses the stars that reached all-time highs and the stars whose careers and personal lives plunged to all-time lows. The show also takes a look back on the fashion statements, trends and news events that left the most indelible marks on the new millennium thus far.

The hot “Idol of The Decade” was season three “American Idol” finalist Jennifer Hudson, with her Oscar award and movie and singing career on the rise. Meanwhile, season two “American Idol” winner Ruben Studdard was unfortunately a “not,” with his less than stellar album debut. Will Smith stole “Movie Star of The Decade” with films box office hits ranging from “I Am Legend” to “Hancock,” while Cuba Gooding, Jr.’s career could use a jumpstart.

The “Hope of The Decade” goes to Nobel Peace Prize winner and President of the United States, Barack Obama and not so hot is the Reverend Jesse Jackson. Grammy award-winning artists Beyonce and husband Jay-Z are the “Couple of The Decade,” while Rapper Nas and Kelis are a “not” because of their public marital issues.

“We really wanted to highlight which stars were able maintain their star power throughout the new millennium’s first decade and which ones disappeared from the spotlight,” says Monique Chenault, Senior Producer, “TV One Access.” “All of the celebrities featured in ‘The Decade of Hotness and Not-ness’ began the decade with a lot of promise and potential. Some met and exceeded all expectations. Others, unfortunately, met their fate.”

The “Trend of The Decade” includes skinny jeans and stilettos, as well as the “not” trends, which consist of grillz and cornrows. The “City of The Decade” is Atlanta, which has been highlighted thanks to the many stars that call it their home, such as Tyler Perry and Jermaine Dupri. New Orleans on the other hand is still struggling to rebuild itself after the devastation from 2005’s Hurricane Katrina.

Also, tune in to find out which stars embody categories such as “Socialite of The Decade,” “Hip Hop Princess of The Decade,” and “Rapper of The Decade.”
