LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Kristen Stewart says she would indeed tell the world if she was or was not dating her “The Twilight Saga” co-star and on-screen love interest Robert Pattinson – if people didn’t care so much.

“I probably would’ve answered it if people hadn’t made such a big deal about it,” the actress told Entertainment Weekly about the blinding media spotlight shone on the two young stars. “But I’m not going to give the fiending an answer.

“I’ve thought about this a lot,” she continued. “There’s no answer that’s not going to tip you one way or the other. Think about every hypothetical situation: ‘Okay, we are. We aren’t. I’m a lesbian.’ I’m just trying to keep something.”

Kristen added that it was unfair for the public to expect her to unveil all the details of her personal life.

“I know that people are really funny about, ‘Well, you chose to be an actor, why don’t you just f***ing give your whole life away?! Can I have your firstborn child?’… If people started asking me if I was dating Taylor [Lautner], I’d be like ‘F*** off!’ I would answer the exact same way.”

Whatever their status, fans will have the chance to see the stars’ considerable chemistry on-screen on November 20, when “New Moon” arrives in theaters.
