It’s hard to go anywhere nowadays and escape the “Glee” hype. And why would you want to? It’s arguably the most refreshing new scripted series on television since “30 Rock” debuted three years ago.
In today’s multi-media platform society though, one track of income a successful business venture does not make. Today, the first volume of songs is available for purchase as well, courtesy of Columbia Records.

When I opened the lid of Dolly Parton’s new box set, perfectly titled “Dolly,” I knew I was going to be in for a surprise. It’s a known fact around the office at Access Hollywood that I love me some Dolly — my office is peppered with Dolly memories — but I admit I have not listened to a lot of her oldies but goodies in quite a while.
Sue me! I have my favorites, but now I have many more!

Sunday night brought the final stop of U2’s soldout North American tour at the famed Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The biggest stadium gig ever to perform at the Bowl (thanks in part to their stage), quickly turned into a global phenomenon… as the band streamed the entire show to the world making it the first global concert Web cast on YouTube. And for the nearly 2 and a half hour show, four Irish lads captivated the world.

Early on in “Live at the Olympia,” R.E.M.’s latest live release, frontman Michael Stipe warns the eager audience that the Dublin, Ireland gig is just a rehearsal. That may be, but it’s for the better — the two-disc, 39-track set showcases the college rock heroes-turned-stadium act at their most fresh and energetic.

Bell Horses may be a new name in the music world, but the people behind it have plenty of experience. Bell Horses is a collaboration between Xian Hawkins (also known as electronic artist Sybarite) and one of my personal favorite singer/songwriters, Jenny Owen Youngs. “This Loves Last Time” is an album composed of eight songs fusing together the talents of these two diverse musicians. It’s an ideal mixture of Xian’s instrumentation and Jenny’s rich, honeyed voice.
