Demi Moore Defends Herself Over Plastic Surgery Debate

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Demi Moore is angry she is being criticized in the media after telling France’s Marie Claire magazine she has not had plastic surgery.

“All this garbage that came out today about me is nothing more than an effort to diminish not just me but all women,” Demi Tweeted on Monday afternoon.

On Monday morning, Demi’s quote to French Marie Claire, denying she has ever gone under the knife, hit the Web.

“It’s completely false, I’ve never had it done,” Moore told the French edition of the fashion magazine about plastic surgery rumors. “But I would never judge those who have. If it’s the best thing for them, then I don’t see a problem.”

The actress’ quote prompted a host of headlines including one on E! Online, which brought in an expert for their story, “Does Demi Moore’s Plastic Surgery Denial Hold Up?” and Britain’s Daily Mail, which wrote that the “evidence” against the actress in relation to plastic surgery is “overwhelming.”

Demi continued to defend herself online via Twitter following the headlines, directing responses at fellow Twitter users including one who suggested she doesn’t have “excess skin” or “stretch marks.”

“Ahh hate to break it to you but I do,” Demi wrote. “Comes with having a few kids 4 some of us!”

Demi advised other women to live their life free of body comparisons or criticisms.

“Diminishing us by continually measuring women based on how we look. Or dont look. Creating comparisons instead of connections Say no 2 that!” she added.

But while Demi said no, Kathy Griffin said yes. The Emmy-winning star of Bravo’s “My Life On The D-List,” who has openly admitted to going under the knife, seemed to address the Demi plastic surgery controversy in her own Facebook update.

“Chapter 12: Nip/***ked: Trust me, if you’re watching TV or a movie and you see a pretty lady over the age of seventeen, she’s had some sh-t done. (Not you, Miley. You’ve got at least six months before Daddy signs you up.),” Kathy wrote.
