Farrah Fawcett, the iconic beauty of “Charlie’s Angels” fame, has been a fixture in the Hollywood star lineup since the late 60’s. She spawned more trends during her 70’s heyday than perhaps any other actress in the business. People named their daughters Farrah. Girls lined up to get her famous hairstyle. And her famous red bathing suit poster was a required purchase for so many guys’ dorm rooms that it sold an astonishing 7 million copies.
She may not have always been a top box office draw throughout her career, but she has always worked hard to turn in stellar performances. In fact, many fans had written her off in the early 80’s and then she delivered a critically acclaimed appearance in 1984’s “The Burning Bed.” Then, astoundingly, she posed for “Playboy” at the age of 48 in 1995.
On June 25, 2009 Farrah passed away after a long battle with cancer. Her longtime companion, Ryan O’Neal, was by her side.
