Kiefer Sutherland Set To Return To ‘24’ After Surgery

LOS ANGELES, Calif.

The clock will start ticking again for “24” when Kiefer (KEE’-fur) Sutherland returns to the set Monday after surgery that shut down filming of the Fox network thriller for two weeks.

Sutherland Surgery Delaying ’24’ Production

LOS ANGELES, Calif.

Production on “24” will be taking a few hours off, the Los Angeles Times reported.

According to the newspaper, 20th Century Fox has halted production on the show while star Kiefer Sutherland undergoes surgery for a ruptured cyst by his kidney.

LOS ANGELES, Calif.

“American Idol” will kick off its ninth year with a two-night season premiere in January.

Fox announced Tuesday that the hit singing contest, which last year produced a battle between winner Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert, will return Tuesday, Jan. 12, and Wednesday, Jan. 13.

Green Seal, Inc. and the Environmental Media Association (EMA) announced today that FOX’s “24” will be the first production to receive the new EMA Green Seal Award. The new standard for green productions includes auditing, rigorous standards and is designed to promote sustainable practices in the entertainment industry.

Actor Gregory Itzin To Return As Disgraced Former President For Another Round On TV’s ‘24’

You haven’t heard the last of former President Charles Logan on “24.”

FOX announced Monday that actor Gregory Itzin will reprise his role as the disgraced chief executive next year on the eighth season of the TV action drama.

Itzin will be acting in several episodes alongside current President Allison Taylor, played by Cherry Jones, when the show returns Jan. 17.
